WSOP event: Don Smith finishes 4th out of 160

Congrats to original DPL player Don 'Big Dee' Smith for his excellent 4th place finish in a WSOP circuit event at Harvey's in Lake Tahoe on Tuesday. Other notables Marty Hapner finished 20th, just 2 places out of the money.

Marty said he played well, but, made a mistake when he pushed in over a 1/3 of his stack under the gun with a Queen/King of hearts and ran into pocket kings. Marty folded, but, shortly thereafter went all-in with an Ace/Duece of diamonds and was out kicked by an Ace/Nine of clubs.

The Dungeon Poker League

The Dungeon Poker League- began in 2003, when a group of local Santa Cruz DiscGolfers got together to play a weekly game of No Limit Texas Hold`em.

The game has not changed, though the League format is constantly reviewed and altered by a vote from the majority of players. Dues are collected for each player for each game, for which the funds are allocated to the final table.

Points are awarded for each game, based on the number of players you finish ahead of in the game, plus one point for yourself. For instance, if you are out first, you get one point.

Points are totalled for the extent of the league, and the top 8 point getters receive an invite to the final table. For the summer 2006 league, a new format was instituted where a player's top ten games are totalled for overall standings.
